Better than ever

"I have recently purchased new, black Lee Relaxed Fit jeans. I noticed a change in the fabric and I like it. It's smoother and less prone to wrinkles. So far, the color has stayed well...I wash on cold and use Woolite Special Care, and hang to dry. I wear these jeans ALL the time...I can dress them up, or down, and they look great. Thanks, Lee, for making jeans that fit!"

Great jeans for a curvy 50-something!

"I bought a pair of these jeans at a local store and wanted a pair in another color and ordered online. They don't gap in the waist to accommodate my curves like other jeans! The cut of the thighs is comfortable, yet stylish. Most important is the availability of Longs."

Very dissapointed

"I have bought these jeans, #3051849, for years and have really loved them until now.
The jean has become very difficult to find. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure stores even carry them any longer. Even so, I would gladly order them from the website if the material had not been drastically changed.
The fabric blend had been 99% cotton/1% spandex but now cotton has been reduced to 72% and 27% polyester has been added. This fabric change is unacceptable to me. I would gladly pay more to get what I want, preferably 100% cotton.
Lee may be saving money by changing the fabric, but they have lost a long time customer."

Fabric needs re-thinking

"Please bring back the 99% cotton/1% lycra
that fit so well and still looked like real jeans should look. I've been wearing these jeans for years but the recent change in fabric has left me fleeing the scene. They feel strange and look strange. I'm in my 50s with an average build (12L) and the cut on these jeans is perfect. Not too low at the waist and other than the fabric, the cut is youthful and flattering. Like others, they do tend to wear quickly in the inner upper thigh, but for the price I'm willing to buy a new pair more often just to get something that fits and looks flattering--at this age or any age. I hope that Lee considers taking another look and brings back a true classic. In the meantime, I will mend what I have and hope for the best."

Relaxed fit jeans

"Please make some jeans for women in their 50's that don't want the waist of the jeans at their belly button. Also, forget the spandex. Some of us are still in decent shape and don't want to wear grandma jeans with a stretch waist. Bring back the vanilla color and cut them so we can wear boots."

Bring back cotton

"I second the review by everydjsantafe. I wish your jeans were more cotton - like they used to be. I wish they didn't wear out so easily on the inner thigh (sigh !). I wish I could find them in the stores, especially Penneys. I've been buying them there for years. On a positive note, Lee's are the only jeans that truly fit me at the waist. I hate low rise."

Bring back my old relaxed fit jeans

"I agree with many of the writers here that ask Lee to bring back the old relaxed fit jeans. I am 50 years old - I do not want super tight jeans and certainly do not want polyester in my jeans. I used to buy these jeans regularly but won't buy them again until Lee goes back to the original fit/material."

Customer since 1973 - bring back 99% cotton!

"Dear Lee Jeans ~
I have been buying - and wearing exclusively - your jeans since I was 13 (1973). I feel they have always had the best fit and comfort for women's bodies, bar none - that includes designer jeans, and especially Levis or Gap jeans.
Since I'm now "older and wider" - more of the former but just a little of the latter, wearing size 10 - I appreciate the relatively recent addition of some stretch in your basic jeans (the 99% cotton/1% Spandex ones). However, I've noticed that they tend to wear out more quickly in the seam area between my legs, and tend to start ripping apart there relatively soon, while the rest of the jean is in great shape. In fact, I just spent the morning restitching the upper inseams of about four pair to repair them.
You could say that it's my fault for having thighs that are too close together, but I feel I have an average body compared to most US women - and I feel that my (your) jeans should last longer! I'm wondering if your designers can't figure out a way to keep some stretch in the jeans while keeping the upper inseam stronger?
On a related note, it has been disappointing to find ever fewer of your "classic" style jeans (relaxed fit, straight or boot cut) in my favorite stores, such as JC Penney. There are so many "young girl" variations in your jeans now, there seems to be no shelf space for just a classic-fit jean for women - ones like me who like comfort and something rugged, and who don't care for all the style bells and whistles, etc. I have had to go online to find these, and I fear that soon I won't be able to find them anywhere.
I've been a customer for almost 40 years - surely you can still provide jeans that an old-timer like me likes to wear?

Relaxed fit at the waist

"I was looking for a pair of jeans that sit at the waist. What I was finding was not "at the waist". So with caution, I ordered these and I was very pleasantly surprised. They fit perfect "at the waist". They are very comfortable and I will continue to order these kind."

relaxed rider jeans

"These are like wearing grandma's polyester pants these are not the old relaxed riders made out of 100% cotton bring them back please,the fit is all wrong they cling to you and the waist doesnt sit where it suppose to be,Sorry Lee, I am going to buy elsewhere maybe Levi's 550 relaxed cotton jeans.
These jeans fit horrible who wants polyester in there jeans??You will loose alot of customers with these jeans I have been buying these relaxed riders over 24 years not anymore.

"I absolutely love these jeans. They fit perfectly and are so very comfortable! And ordering online was a piece of cake! My local department Kohls regularly has Lee jeans on sale, but I can never find my size (6short). Kudos to lee.com for a great jean and great service. DON'T CHANGE THE JEAN OR STOP MAKING THEM!"

Terrible fitting jeans

"I have bought the relaxed fit jeans and classic for many years and loved them especially when they were offered in more colors. The new material is awful. It shows every bulge you have with all of the stretch in them now. Please bring the old jeans with mostly cotton denim in them back. I will not be purchasing anymore of the new ones."

"I am so disappointed with the new material! The waist is too tight, the legs have too much stretch and even the length has changed. What's worse is they no longer feel like denim. I'm going to have to find a new favorite. These just won't cut it. Can you bring back the old jeans? Call them vintage or something similar and I'll be they will sell."

"New style fits too tight at waist not a true size 16. Thigh is tighter too. I loved the old style #3051867. Not impressed with this style change at all. I thought lee would be my forever jeans after finding the previous style. I guess I have to start over. Uhhgggg!"
